Catina Smith, or Chef "Cat" as she is called on Baltimore's food scene where she is making a remarkable impact! Chef Cat has had a passion for food since age 10, when she would create elegant meals for her parents. She went on to study culinary arts at Baltimore International College graduating with a degree in professional cooking and later joined the Air Force reserves. Chef Cat spent part of her career in government, with the Army Corps of Engineers and while deployed managed a dining facility feeding 7,000 troops daily.
She started from the bottom working her way up from line cook to sous chef to executive chef. Chef Cat has over 15 years of experience in the industry, working in restaurants, hotels, casinos, in catering and as a private chef. Currently, she runs her own foodie lifestyle company Culinary Socialite, bringing people together for good food and conversation. Catina has recently started the Just Call Me Chef initiative to support black female chefs through mentorship, networking, and scholarship opportunities. Additionally, Chef Cat has a podcast Taste Charm City - exploring the Baltimore food scene. She continues to expand her brand by building relationships.
In addition to all of this, Catina, is a Maryland Restaurant Association 2019 finalist for Chef of the Year. She is the proud mother of 2 beautiful children, son Isaiah and daughter Micah.
