Ashley Nicole Rock, RN MS MBA is a compassionate community servant and visionary who applies her academic background, leadership experience, and innate ability to create partnerships and leverage resources to advance population health. She began her career as a youth services coordinator with HIV infected youth at her mom’s non-profit, LIGHT Health and Wellness; then later operationalized a University of Maryland’s School of Medicine’s HIV Primary Care Clinic known as the JACQUES Initiative. After years serving in the heart of the community, she transitioned to a position to impact public health on a macro level as a Director of Regional Care Coordination at CareFirst Blue Cross Blue Shield. Although Ashley has always enjoyed her roles working for a major hospital and corporation, it was important to her that she became a business owner. Her first business endeavor was in 2012 when she founded Dreams 2 Reality, a non-profit business consulting firm through which she has helped many successful non-profits formalize and launch. Additionally, in 2016 she started Above It All Mental Health Services, a mental health and community service agency. Ashley is also a professor at the University of Maryland School of Nursing, serves on several community boards and is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.
Ashley’s favorite quote and mantra for life is “I’ve come to believe that each of us has a personal calling that’s as unique as a fingerprint – and that the best way to succeed in life is to discover what you love and then find a way to offer it to others in the form of service, working hard and also allowing the energy of the universe to lead you.” – Oprah
